First Diary Room visit for me - the Big Brother experience doesn't feel real until you've been in the Diary Room! I was one of the last people to enter the house, which sucks because all the beds were taken and now I have to sleep in a room with more pairs of shoes than I have ever seen in my whole life put together. Basically I'm in the girl's room. Plus side is that there are some attractive women in this room. The negative is that by the end of this game, I may stab myself with a stiletto if I have to look at these shoes day and night. We've got a pretty interesting twist with the House Next Door competition. It's really exciting to be a part of this because it could have dramatic consequences on the whole game. A major target could be given safety by going there. The numbers could be shaken up because the person there can't vote. Someone might try to exploit this and send an adversary only to have it blow up in their face by them finding something useful. There's just so many possible scenarios! I am really tempted to send myself there if I win the competition and just guarantee myself one week's worth of safety, but I don't really want to play so selfishly this early in the game. That would just be asking for trouble. So I thought I'd get to know some people and see who would like to go there. GinaMarie seemed to be happy to do so, and so I will be sending her if I win. She'll be safe, and hopefully she will choose to share whatever is there with me, if it can be shared! Meanwhile, on a side note, unfortunately being from Australia means that the HoH Competition is on when I'm asleep, and so I probably won't be here for that. It's a bit of a blessing in disguise, as I don't want the target of being the first HoH on my back. And this way, I don't really have to throw anything intentionally. However, that's a double-edged sword because someone could win the HoH and just nominate two people who weren't there at the time, and that would be a pretty sucky reason to be nominated. So the plan is to try to get to talk to as many people I can find before I get to sleep tonight! The more people I get to know and the more people who know why I'm not here during the HoH, the better my odds of not being nominated. Of course there's no guarantees that someone I talked to will win, but hopefully that holds true. I spoke to GinaMarie as I mentioned and she seems nice. She is definitely one of the hottest girls in this house... and Nick's not here LOL! Don't know where that will go, but my mind is on the game right now - I really don't want to be the first one to go home. I also spoke to Alex who seems really cool. Just chatted about random things and got to know him a little. I really like Alex so far - seems like someone I can work with. But he did say at one point during our conversation that he thinks the HND twist will be really interesting around Week 3 as that's when alliances will start to form. I don't disagree with what he's saying, but it put me off asking to work with him at this point. Hopefully I did enough in the event that he wins HoH though. And he said that he does want to win it - there might be quite a number of people not trying to win, and there's a legitimate possibility that Alex will be the first HoH. I had a brief chat with Brendon too. But he left rather quickly. He's probably in some bathroom crying and missing Rachel and their future baby. I don't know. Kevin seems cool - I got good vibes from him in our first chat. I think I'll be safe if he were to win HoH. So he's one of the people I'm cheering for! I also chatted with Roddy. Turns out he won't be here for the HoH competition either, so we're in the same boat and having to rely on our social game to carry us over the line for now. I guess that's a bit of common ground to bond over. He seems like a nice guy. I'm really hoping I will see a few more people before the night is over, but at this point, I'd be pretty satisfied if one of the people I've talked to won the HoH Competition. Or maybe someone will send me to the House Next Door and I'll have nothing to worry about at all!  |

Well that House Next Door competition was really close... and I forgot to submit a tiebreaker question... Maybe I should spend less time looking at some of the housemates and more time reading the details... But everyone has a blonde moment at some point in the game - mine just happened to be in the very first competition...  Looks like Kevin took home the HoH which is great as he is one of the few houseguests I've spoken to already. Hopefully he will not be thinking about nominating me this week, and I'll definitely talk to him some more before then. Hopefully those people who didn't submit in the HND at all will be nominated - that would be a fair way to go about it. My game plan in the first couple of weeks is to lay as low as I can while also getting to know as much of the house as I can. I don't want to risk making myself a target too early. |

So today GinaMarie was telling me that I have a nice ass. Well... thanks... I think... I didn't expect something like this to happen so soon, nor did I think someone was going to be commenting about my ass at this stage of the competition... but if she wants to keep me around because she thinks my body is nice to look at, I'll take it! She's definitely one of the hottest girls in this house. She's from New York, I'm from New Jersey - I don't really like her taste in cities, but I like everything else so far. |

Had a little chat with Kevin and he asked who I think he should nominate. I recommended the two people who didn't submit the HND Competition - Ronnie and Natalie - as I think that's fair and won't ruffle any feathers.
He seemed to be thinking along the same lines, so I think that's what will happen. Hopefully there are no surprises!

Well that conversation with Roddy was a huge revelation. I sure am glad that I have a good bond with him, otherwise I could have been that surprise third nomination who gets targeted.
I really don't envy his position at all. Kevin's got an easy job nominating some inactive players but Roddy will ruffle some feathers whichever way he rolls and he might make an enemy right off the bat...
It does get me curious though - what could the other powers over there be? There could be some genuine game-changers if this is anything to go by, and every week is gonna be scary until the contents are revealed...

Not too surprised with how the Nomination Ceremony played out. Roddy's third nomination was interesting but not too unexpected either - I don't think Jenn has anything to worry about. I think Natalie or Ronnie will be departing this week - not too sure which one at this point. If one of them wins Veto, the other will go. Otherwise the house will choose between them, or so I believe.
I was chosen to play in the Power of Veto which is fun. I figured I might try to win it, although I doubt I would use it if I did. ANyway, there is an element of luck in this one, so it's not entirely within my control, but I managed to find $130,000 worth of cold hard cash and I did it in well under 10 minutes, so it might be enough, unless there were bigger sums in the numbers I didn't explore.
Then I spent some time getting to know a few more housemates - I continued chatting with Brendon, Kevin and Roddy, and I spoke to Angie, Jee, Sabrina and Keesha for the first time.
I had a pretty long chat with Angie about anything and everything and I quite like her. I think she'll be a strong player too, especially as she did pretty well at the first HoH Competition, so I think working with Angie could be beneficial. The only problem with that is that GinaMarie - who I got pretty close to earlier - is not a big fan of Angie because Angie nominated her twice during that competition, so this could potentially be awkward...
She also said she would have nominated the same people if she was up, so I suppose that's another person who is thinking along the same lines as myself, which is good to know.
Jee seems cool too - interesting to talk to and we talked about where we are from and everything like that.
I quite like Keesha - we introduced ourselves and then talked a little bit about Big Brother 16. She and I basically have all of the same favourites on that, so that immediately gave me a positive first impression of her! Definitely someone I could get along with.
And Sabrina was equally fun to talk to - we talked about Disney movies among other things. She'll be an interesting personality in the house too.
The problem is that I have really liked everyone I have spoken with in one way or another so far... that will undoubtedly make things a little dicey later on in the game...

So it seems I didn't really do all that well in the Veto competition... but that's alright, since it wasn't used and everything went the same as it would've done if I had won it. I don't mind being such a failure at that challenge in any case - I don't want to be perceived as a threat anytime soon!
Meanwhile Kevin won both HoH and PoV in Week 1, so I think he is very much a huge threat to keep an eye on.
And I think Roddy is losing his mind in the House Next Door - we should give him that giant stuffed panda from Kevin's HoH Room so that he's not all alone over there, although I worry it could lead to the first showmance of the summer...

From what I gather, it seems that the majority of the house wants Natalie gone first. I wasn't really fussed who went home between Ronnie and Natalie at first, but sending Natalie home doesn't really sit right with me right now because she has been active and at least participating - even more than Jenn has been.
There's also the fact that before the PoV Competition, Angie and I were - jokingly - talking about me needing to win that competition and take Natalie off the block so that I can secure her friendship on Facebook after the game ended, because she promised to add whoever took her off the block on Facebook after the game ended, since... you know... my main goal this summer was to leave the house with Natalie on my Friends List. If Natalie stays in the house, then it keeps alive the possibility of me potentially taking her off the block next week and ascertaining her friend request when she ultimately leaves the house.
Sure Natalie is a little crazy - even threatening people with her "Diamond Power of Veto" - or maybe even a lot crazy... but I'd rather deal with mental patients than inactives. I think she deserves to stay over the other two, but ultimately, I don't see any point voting against the house especially when the vote could be unanimous, or at least close to it.
As of this moment, I'm pretty certain my vote will be to evict Natalie, but things could always change...

Well that conversation with Alex was rather enlightening - seems like I'm not alone in my thought that Natalie deserves to stay. I got really good first vibes from Alex, and this latest conversation consolidates that.
I don't know how many people are going to vote for Ronnie but I would think there could be at least a handful. I asked GinaMarie about it and she thinks Angie, Keesha and Alex are together and trying to save Natalie. I liked all three of those guys so I'm inclined to want to do so as well, but GinaMarie doesn't like them because they plotted against her during the HoH competition, so I may be caught in the middle of something here. GinaMarie likes Sabrina and Topaz, and I like the two of them as well, but this could be the start of alliances forming, and I may need to pick my side soon...
I feel good about voting Ronnie out - it's the right thing to do. There may be a lot of fallout from it - and Alex's comment about nominating other active people if he is HoH next time indicate that - but it's my game and I want to play it with worthy competitors, whether or not I end up Facebook friends with them at the end.
